Battle of Stalingrad is the largest recreation of the air war over the Stalingrad front ever portrayed on the PC platform. With a large terrain map and a faithfully re-created Stalingrad city on the Volga River, the scenery portrays not only the devastation of the fierce battle, but the harsh snowy environment faced by the opposing armies. Fly for either the Red Air Force or the German Luftwaffe and battle for air superiority in the most pivotal battle on the Eastern Front in WWII. The air battles were deadly and exhausting to aircrews on both sides. Remember – Not one step back! There is No Land Behind the Volga! You’ll be able to choose from 8 flyable aircraft including the IL-2 Sturmovik, Lagg-3, BF-109 F4, Yak-1, Pe-2, He-111 H6, BF-109 G2 and Ju-87 D3 Stuka dive bomber. The La-5 and FW-190 A3 are also included as non-flyable AI controlled fighter aircraft. You’ll experience a cutting edge flight-sim experience such as advanced flight-models, a complex physics engine and detailed damage model. And don’t forget the gorgeous graphics, awesome special effects, beautiful 3D models, detailed terrain and challenging artificial intelligence. Battle of Stalingrad has something for every flight-sim fan, from a challenging single player campaign to large multiplayer dogfights. Battle of Stalingrad merges the advanced flight and combat environment familiar to hardcore combat simulation enthusiasts with gameplay elements familiar to other game genres. As you fly the single-player Campaign you’ll gain access to additional historically correct weapons and equipment. You’ll also be given access to new historically accurate paintjobs and mission types. As you advance you’ll be offered a chance to fly missions in the next phase of the battle. There are 5 phases total which combined tell the story of the Battle of Stalingrad. You can then take the weapons and equipment you earned in the Campaign to multiplayer servers and custom single-player missions.
